Tournament top-seed Eugenie Bouchard eliminated from National Bank Cup
QUEBEC — Eugenie Bouchard was eliminated from the National Bank Cup on Thursday night, falling 6-2, 6-3 to Russia’s Alla Kudryavtseva in the second round.
Bouchard, the tournament’s top seed, won only one break point in six tries against the 162nd ranked player in the world.
The 22-year-old also saved just 3-of-8 break points on the campus of Laval University.
Kudryavtseva was efficient on her first serves, winning 81 per cent of the points and broke the Westmount, Que., native twice in the first set.
