Self Directed Funding for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities a Success
At a press conference recently, Minister Beaudry-Mellor announced that Self-Directed Funding is now an option for individuals with intellectual disabilities!
The press release refers to ‘future’. This references that the budget in April 2017 will be the next time that funding will be available but people can start to talk to their CSW and consider developing plans right now.
Self-Directed Funding Demonstration Project a Success
Social Services Minister Tina Beaudry-Mellor today announced the future implementation of a self-directed funding (SDF) model for individuals who experience intellectual disabilities to give them greater choice over their life decisions. Self-directed funding allows individuals experiencing intellectual disabilities to choose supports that meet their needs and help them reach their goals.
