UPDATE: Search continues for missing mushroom picker

The RCMP is renewing the call for help in the search for a missing man in east-central Saskatchewan.

Tony Olekas, 78, left his home in Nipawin on July 18 for an area west of Hanson Lake Rd., near Big Sandy Lake. 

A week later his family reported him missing. 

With the upcoming hunting season, the RCMP is hoping there will be a number of people in the area and someone may spot some clue regarding Olekas’s whereaboutus.

Cabin owners in the area are being encouraged to contact RCMP if they notice any suspicious activity.

Olekas is described as 5’11,” with a medium build and short cut grey hair. He was last seen wearing black pants, a dark blue shirt and carrying a red basket for his mushrooms.
