City of Meadow Lake Receives $770,000 for Targeted Policing Initiatives
The Government of Saskatchewan is taking action to help ensure community safety for Meadow Lake communities and families through the Municipal Police Grants.
This contribution of $770,000 will continue to fund seven Meadow Lake RCMP positions.
“Community Safety and well-being across the province but particularly in the North is a priority for the Government of Saskatchewan,” Economy Minister and Meadow Lake MLA Jeremy Harrison said on behalf of Justice Minister and Attorney General Gordon Wyant. “The additional RCMP resources provided through the Municipal Police Grants are incredibly important to families and residents of Meadow Lake and area.”
The Municipal Police Grant supports enhanced community policing throughout the city in the areas of chronic offenders, youth education programs, illegal drug activity, and traffic safety. These programs support the core work of the Meadow Lake RCMP and work to ensure a safer community.
