UPDATE: All SaskTel services return to Pierceland

Nov 10, 2016 | 11:00 AM

UPDATE: All internet, cell and landline services have now returned to the Pierceland area.

Work is nearing completion at SaskTel services in Pierceland after a fire destroyed its building late last week.

Cell phone service was restored for customers on Friday, Nov. 4, however, landline and internet services continued to be down due to the total loss of the building.

The afternoon of Nov. 9, SaskTel crews were able to install the new building and today, Nov. 10, are beginning work to splice each individual landline and internet customer back into the SaskTel network.

In a media release, SaskTel spokesperson Greg Jacobs said due to the precise and technical nature of the work done, crews expect it will take until late Friday, Nov. 11 afternoon to restore services to all customers.

“SaskTel would like to apologize for any inconvenience this outage may cause for customers and thank customers for their patience and understanding,” Jacobs said.

The new building is located on the direct west side of the burnt building.
