Wage freeze for Sask. MLAs in 2017

Nov 24, 2016 | 3:23 PM

Saskatchewan’s MLAs won’t be taking a pay rise next year.

It is in response to the $1 billion deficit unveiled this week and the public sector hiring freeze.

“We are going to be proposing to the Board of Internal Economy that MLAs’ salaries be frozen next year,” Economy Minister Jeremy Harrison confirmed.

The zero per cent position is something the NDP agrees with.
