Communiplex re-opening to coincide with Hockey Day
In conjunction with the Hockey Day in St. Walburg tomorrow, a ribbon cutting ceremony will celebrate the re-opening of the town’s communiplex.
The roughly $1 million project consisted of replacing the roof and repairs to the interior which administrator Shiloh Bronken said was a result of ice damming last spring. He said the ice affected spots in the arena, curling rink, and bowling alley.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing if it will reduce some of our utility costs,” she said. “Because we increased the insulation value in the roof, we’re looking forward to seeing some decreased expenses which could potentially be reflected further down the line.”
Along with the roof repairs came modern wheelchair accessible entrance.
