Northern Saskatchewan RCMP officer charged with assault, suspended

An RCMP officer working at the Stony Rapids detachment has been charged with assault, in connection to an incident that happened Friday in the northern community.

According to a news release from Stony Rapids RCMP, officers responded to a call at a home in Black Lake.

As a result of the investigation, Brendin Feere has been charged with assault, forcible confinement and overcoming resistance to commission of offence.

He has been scheduled to make his first court appearance Sept. 19. in Black Lake court.
