NAFTA TALKS TO BEGIN IN EARNEST TODAY: FREELAND
Canada’s chief NAFTA negotiator says it will be an “important and constructive week” in talks to update the continental trade pact. Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland arrived in Washington last night to meet separately with her U-S and Mexican counterparts. She said the latest round of talks on specific issues will begin today. The White House is calling on Canada to endorse what U-S President Donald Trump has described as a replacement for NAFTA by the end of the week.
