Parti Quebecois rules out coalition government with Coalition Avenir Quebec
MONTREAL — Parti Quebecois Leader Jean-Francois Lisee is ruling out any coalition with the Coalition.
With the scenario of a minority government a possibility come election night Oct. 1, Lisee poured cold water Wednesday on the notion of an alliance between the PQ and the Coalition Avenir Quebec.
“We’d say no,” Lisee said on Day 7 of the campaign. “We are not in agreement on so many essential points that I don’t think it’s feasible.”
His comments were in response to an online Leger poll conducted for Le Devoir and the Montreal Gazette that pegged Coalition support at 37 per cent, compared with 32 per cent for the Liberals and 19 per cent for the PQ.
