FREELAND IN WASHINGTON TO RESUME NAFTA TALKS TODAY
Canada and the United States will restart high-level talks today on the North American Free Trade Agreement. Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland is returning to Washington in hope of making progress on stubborn differences. Ottawa and Washington are trying to reach an agreement that could be submitted to the U.S. Congress by month’s end. The two sides have so far been unable to break an impasse over issues such as U.S. access to the Canadian dairy market and a cultural exemption for Canada.
