The Great Fuss Releases EP

May 2, 2019 | 9:31 AM

Saskatoon band, The Great Fuss, recently released a 5 song EP titled Root Thyself on April 27th, 2019.

They will be one of the headlines at the inaugural music festival – Chesterfest https://www.chesterfest.ca/lineup – this summer in Prince Abert. We’ll be playing directly after The Dead South.

The new release features strong melodic hooks supported by carefully crafted instrumentation. With textures reminiscent of British Invasion bands from the 1960’s along with some modern production sensibilities, the songs strike a balance the group is pleased with.

The recording was crafted by the group in their Saskatoon studio (Caswell Hill Records) with songwriter Pete Oldridge wielding production controls.

This past year has been their biggest yet with performances on the main stage of Saskatchewan’s premier Ness Creek Music Festival and a sold out show with Bombargo at the Coors Event Centre.

Songwriter Oldridge was previously lauded for the group’s eponymous debut release with 3 placements in the Canadian Songwriting Competition in 2018. The group is gearing up for summer festival performances including one performance in Saskatchewan following The Dead South at Prince Albert’s inaugural Chester Fest, July 5-7.

On April 27th, The Great Fuss is celebrated their new release at the Capitol Music Club in Saskatoon with support from The Department Heads, as well as Bad Animal who are in the middle of a cross-country tour.
