Annual Seniors Christmas Lights Tour ready to roll
The time of year has come for the annual Seniors Christmas Lights Tour.
Residents in the city of Meadow Lake are encouraged to get Christmas decorations up to spread some Christmas cheer to our seniors. The tradition has been happening in the city for more than 20 years.
“[The event] is organized through local housing authorities who put up signs around the community. On Dec 15, the seniors are picked up by different Lions members and driven around to see the lights,” Susan Paley, a veteran Lions member, said. “It brightens up the town.”
Paley said members of the Lions’ Club donate their time to drive in their personal vehicles and Multiworks is donating a handi-van to drive people from Northland Pioneer Lodge and other retirement communities in the city. Nearly 12 Lions club volunteers are participating.
