Vidal named to Sheer’s shadow cabinet

Gary Vidal, the newly elected MP for the Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River riding has been named to Andrew Scheer’s shadow cabinet.

Vidal and has been given the file for Indigenous Services.

“The youth suicide issue is something that we want to have some conversations about but the big thing right now is to build relationships with people and listen to what’s going on and to try to understand those challenges and help them through those processes. The big thing right now is to build relationships and listen,” Vidal told meadowlakeNOW.

The job of the shadow cabinet is to largely scrutinize the policies and actions of the government, as well as to offer an alternative program.

“My focus in the short term will be catching up on some of the files and listening to folks, and building relationships and helping them on their journey,” he said.
