RCMP seeking truck theft suspects

UPDATE Jan. 16: The Meadow Lake RCMP are reporting yesterday in Onion Lake, Sask, Joshua Albin Lecky-Harper was arrested. He also appeared in court for the first time to face the criminal charges for his actions in regards to the matter.

Meadow Lake RCMP is asking the public for assistance in locating two suspects who fled from police.

Jessica Cantos, a spokesperson with the RCMP told meadowlakeNOW two suspects are at large and one is known to police. Officers are also looking for the owner of a stolen truck.

“On Jan. 4 at approximately 4:40 p.m., Meadow Lake RCMP responded to the report of a stolen white pick-up truck having been spotted leaving Meadow Lake on Highway 4,” she said.

The stolen truck was described as a white Dodge flat-deck pick-up truck with a picker.

“Meadow Lake RCMP found the truck parked on the side of the eastbound lane of Highway 304 with a trailer attached to it,” she said.

Cantos said when police approached the vehicle, two men ran to the truck and quickly drove away. The suspects headed east on Highway 304. As the two men fled, Cantos said they committed a series of dangerous driving acts in the streets and fields of the Meadow Lake area.

Police later recovered the stolen truck, but the two men remain at large.

Joshua Albin Lecky-Harper, 30, is wanted on a warrant for several charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, break and enter of a residence, theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of failure to stop after an accident, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, flight from police, and mischief under $5,000.

Cantos added Lecky-Harper is known to frequent Lloydminster, Alta. and Onion Lake, Sask. He is described as 5-9 tall weighing 183 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Lecky-Harper could be dangerous and should not be approached, Cantos said.

Meadow Lake RCMP is also asking the public to help identify the owner of the 2017 20-foot flatbed tandem trailer the two men used, which police say was stolen Jan. 4 in the Meadow Lake area.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Lecky-Harper, the man he was with in the white truck, or the ownership of the stolen trailer is asked to contact Meadow Lake RCMP at 306-236-2570 or Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP.
