The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has laid multiple charges relating to immigration fraud against a Saskatchewan man.

According to a CBSA release, over a two-year span from June 2016 to November 2018, Gurpreet Singh was allegedly involved in the exploitation of work permit exemptions that some temporary foreign workers can receive.

“Individuals who make business out of circumventing immigration laws pose a serious threat to program integrity,” CBSA’s acting regional director, Brad Wozny, said in the release.

“By investigating and prosecuting alleged offenders, the CBSA works to preserve the fairness of Canada’s immigration system.”
