Police investigating after body found on Thunderchild First Nation

Members of the Turtleford RCMP detachment are investigating after a deceased man was located in an open field on the Thunderchild First Nation.

Police received the complaint on Feb. 2 around 6 p.m.

The scene was secured before the coroner and additional RCMP resources, including the North Battleford Forensic Identification Services, assisted in an examination of the scene.

The 29-year-old deceased man was from the Thunderchild First Nation. Next of kin were notified and police will not release his name as criminality has not been confirmed.

An autopsy is scheduled in Saskatoon within the coming days as the investigation remains ongoing.
