Dorintosh boil-water advisory could be lifted as early as Thursday
Town officials with the Village of Dorintosh say the boil-water advisory issued for parts of town could be lifted as early as Thursday.
Deputy Mayor Brad Osborne told meadowlakeNOW, part of the village’s water supply may have been affected by a deteriorating curb-stop at a property in town and the advisory is a precautionary measure.
“A curb-stop had to be replaced as part of normal maintenance and because waterlines are depressurized for 10 minutes or more during repairs. We have to issue a boil water advisory for that part of town,” Osborne said. “After repairs are made, it typically takes two to three days to get two back-to-back clean samples to lift the advisory.”
The boil-water advisory is in effect for the following residents and users of the Village of Dorintosh treated water distribution system servicing Second Street East, First Street (Highway 4), First to Third Avenue West, all South of Main Street and is in effect until further notice.
