MLBEX awards postponed amid Coronavirus concerns

Meadow Lake’s Chamber of Commerce will delay the Meadow Lake Business Excellence Awards (MLBEX) this Friday as precaution against COVID-19.

Trevor Dignean, an administrator from the Chamber, told meadowlakeNOW the decision was difficult but necessary.

“We have postponed the event but I don’t have anymore details other than that,” he said.

The Chamber issued a statement today stating a new event date will be issued once the COVID-19 situation permits:

“We believe that this is the responsible decision to make for the safety of the community and area,” the Chamber said in a statement. “The decision was not easy as there has been a lot of excitement building for this event. The Board has the well being of its members and the community as their highest priority.”
