No fatalities reported in single vehicle crash near Beauval

On Sunday Aug. 2, just before 5 p.m. Beauval RCMP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 965 between Canoe Lake and Cole Bay.

RCMP spokesperson Jessica Cantos told meadowlakeNOW a truck carrying four occupants was travelling west on Highway 965 when it lost control and rolled into a ditch.

“Three occupants were ejected from the car and one occupant was left trapped inside the car,” she said.

The driver, a 47-year-old male was taken to hospital by ambulance to Île-à-la-Crosse and then by STARS air ambulance to Saskatoon.

A 30-year-old female was taken to hospital by air ambulance to Saskatoon.

A 52-year-old female and a 50-year-old male were taken to hospital by ground ambulance to Saskatoon.

The 50-year-old male was released from hospital on Aug. 3.

The other three occupants remain in hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.

“The responding agencies included Beauval RCMP, Patuanak, Canoe Lake, Waterhen Lake, RCMP Meadow Lake Traffic Services and RCMP reconstructionists,” Cantos said.

First responders include Île-à-la-Crosse and Meadow Lake EMS, STARS air ambulance and Beauval Fire and Rescue.

The investigation is ongoing.
