One more COVID case in Saskatchewan, total amount at 1,582

There is one new case of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the total amount to 1,582.

The new case is in the Saskatoon zone.

Of the total cases, 157 are active. There have been 1,403 recoveries.

Eight people remain in hospital with four receiving inpatient care. Two are in the South West, one in Saskatoon, and one in Regina.

There are four people in intensive care, all of which are in Saskatoon.

Of the 157 active cases, 107 are in communal living settings.

Of the total cases, 226 are travellers, 809 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 472 have no known exposures, and 75 are under investigation by local public health.

Across the province, 64 cases are health care workers (although not all may have sourced their infections at work).

There are

  • 405 cases from the south area (207 south west, 187 south central, 11 south east)
  • 352 cases from the far north area (346 far north west, zero far north central, six far north east)
  • 252 cases from the north area (119 north west, 68 north central, 65 north east)
  • 248 cases from the Saskatoon area
  • 194 cases from the central area (161 central west, 33 central east)

There are 259 cases involving people 19 years old and younger. The remainder are adults.

There are 505 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 491 in the 40 to 59 age range, 272 are in the 60 to 79 age range, and 55 in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-one per cent of cases are females and 49 per cent are males.

To date, 22 people have died from COVID-19 related complications.

There have been 124,219 tests for COVID-19 performed in the province. Yesterday alone, there were 931 tests performed.

Anyone who requests a test in the province will receive one, regardless of whether or not they display symptoms of the virus.
