Four new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan, seven new recoveries

There are four new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the total amount to 1,586.

The new cases are in the North West (two) and South West (two) zones.

This is now the third consecutive day where new COVID-19 cases stayed under two digits. The last time that happened July 9-11.

There are seven new recoveries. Of the total 1,586 cases, 154 are considered active. There have been a total of 1,410 people who have recovered.

Seven people remain in hospital with three receiving inpatient care. Two are in the South West, one in Saskatoon.

There are four people in intensive care, all of which are in Saskatoon.

Of the 154 active cases, 104 are in communal living settings.

Of the total province-wide cases, 226 are travellers, 813 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 473 have no known exposures, and 74 are under investigation by local public health.

Across the province, 64 cases are health care workers (although not all may have sourced their infections at work).

There are

  • 407 cases from the south area (209 south west, 187 south central, 11 south east)
  • 352 cases from the far north area (346 far north west, 0 far north central, 6 far north east)
  • 254 cases from the north area (121 north west, 68 north central, 65 north east)
  • 248 cases from the Saskatoon area
  • 194 cases from the central area (161 central west, 33 central east)

There are 259 cases involving people 19 years old and younger. The remainder are adults.

There are 506 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 492 in the 40 to 59 age range, 274 are in the 60 to 79 age range, and 55 in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-one per cent of cases are females and 49 per cent are males.

To date, 22 people have died from COVID-19 related complications.

There have been 125,181 tests for COVID-19 performed in the province. Yesterday alone, there were 962 tests performed.

Anyone who requests a test in the province will receive one, regardless of whether or not they display symptoms of the virus.
