Province records four new cases of COVID-19, nine new recoveries

There are four new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the total amount to 1,590. Three are from the South Central zone, with the other coming from Saskatoon.

There are nine new recoveries. Of the total 1,590 cases, 149 are considered active. There have been a total of 1,419 people who have recovered.

Five people remain in hospital with one receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon. Four people are in intensive care, all in Saskatoon.

Of the total province-wide cases, 230 are travellers, 818 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 476 have no known exposures, and 66 are under investigation by local public health.

Across the province, 65 cases are health care workers (although not all may have sourced their infections at work).

There are:

  • 410 cases from the south area (209 south west, 190 south central, 11 south east)
  • 352 cases from the far north area (346 far north west, zero far north central, six far north east)
  • 254 cases from the north area (121 north west, 68 north central, 65 north east)
  • 249 cases from the Saskatoon area
  • 194 cases from the central area (161 central west, 33 central east)

There are 260 cases involving people 19 years old and younger. The remainder are adults.

There are 509 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 492 in the 40 to 59 age range, 274 are in the 60 to 79 age range, and 55 in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-one per cent of cases are females and 49 per cent are males.

To date, 22 people have died from COVID-19 related complications.

There have been 126,624 tests for COVID-19 performed in the province. Yesterday alone, there were 1.443 tests performed.

Anyone who requests a test in the province will receive one, regardless of whether or not they display symptoms of the virus.
