One new death, three new COVID-19 cases, 30 more recoveries recorded in Saskatchewan

There is one new death related to COVID-19 recorded in the province.

The person was in their 50s and resided in the South West zone. There have been a total of 24 deaths related to the virus in the province.

There are three new cases to report in the province and 30 more recoveries.

The provincial total is now at 1,604.

Of the total cases, 60 are considered active, 24 of which are in communal living settings. There have been a total of 1,520 recoveries.

Three people are in hospital with one receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon. Two people are in intensive care in Saskatoon.

Of the 1,604 cases in Saskatchewan, 233 are travellers, 818 are community contacts, 484 have no known exposures and 69 remain under investigation by public health.

Across the province, 66 are health care workers although not all may have sourced their infections from work.

There are 264 cases involving people aged 19 and under. There are 516 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 492 in the 40 to 59 age range, 276 in the 60 to 79 age range, and 56 in the 80-plus age range.

Of the total cases, 51 per cent are females and 49 per cent are males.

In Saskatchewan there are:

  • 413 cases from the south area (213 south west, 189 south central, 11 south east)
  • 352 cases from the far north area (346 far north west, 0 far north central, 6 far north east)
  • 259 cases from the north area (125 north west, 68 north central, 66 north east)
  • 254 cases from the Saskatoon area
  • 194 cases from the central area (161 central west, 33 central east)

To date, the province has performed 135,518 COVID-19 tests with 1,186 performed yesterday. Testing is available to anyone who requests it regardless of whether they have symptoms.
