Province records two new cases of COVID-19, 16 new recoveries

There are two new cases of COVID-19 to report in the province and 16 more recoveries.

The provincial total is now at 1,611.

Of the total cases, 44 are considered active, 20 of which are in communal living settings. There have been a total of 1,543 recoveries.

Three people are in hospital with one receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon. Two people are in intensive care in Saskatoon.

Of the 1,611 cases in Saskatchewan, 233 are travellers, 824 are community contacts, 482 have no known exposures and 71 remain under investigation by public health.

Across the province, 66 are health care workers although not all may have sourced their infections from work.

There are 266 cases involving people aged 19 and under. There are 518 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 493 in the 40 to 59 age range, 277 in the 60 to 79 age range, and 57 in the 80-plus age range.

Of the total cases, 51 per cent are females and 49 per cent are males.

There have been 24 deaths recorded in the province.

In Saskatchewan there are:

  • 413 cases from the south area (213 south west, 189 south central, 11 south east)
  • 353 cases from the far north area (347 far north west, six far north east)
  • 262 cases from the north area (128 north west, 68 north central, 66 north east)
  • 257 cases from the Saskatoon area
  • 194 cases from the central area (161 central west, 33 central east)
  • 132 cases from the Regina area

To date, the province has performed 136,333 COVID-19 tests with 1,561 performed yesterday. Testing is available to anyone who requests it regardless of whether they have symptoms.
