Province records 10 new COVID-19 cases, four more recoveries

The province has recorded 10 new cases of COVID-19.

The cases are located in the Saskatoon (seven), North East (one) and Regina (one) zones. One case location is pending.

The total amount of reported cases is now at 1,751.

To date, 21 cases are linked to the social gathering in Saskatoon reported on Sept. 13. Contact tracing remains underway, and it’s likely other cases will be identified.

Of the total cases, 107 are considered active. A total of 1,620 people have recovered, including four more announced today.

Four people are in hospital receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon.

Of the current active cases, 32 are in communal living settings.

Of the 1,731 cases, 262 are travellers, 873 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 520 have no known exposures and 97 are under investigation by local public health.

Across the province, 69 cases are healthcare workers (although not all sourced their infections from work). There are 290 cases involving people aged 19 years old and younger.

There are 574 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 536 in the 40 to 59 age range, 293 in the 60 to 79 age range and 58 in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-one per cent of cases are females and 49 per cent are males.

There are 24 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to date.

There are:

  • 431 cases from the south area (221 south west, 197 south central, 13 south east)
  • 357 cases from the far north area (349 far north west, eight far north east)
  • 322 cases from the Saskatoon area
  • 271 cases from the north area (131 north west, 73 north central, 67 north east)
  • 229 cases from the central area (168 central west, 61 central east)
  • 140 cases from the Regina area
  • One case is pending location

To date, 163,151 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province, with 1,218 performed yesterday.

Testing is available to anyone who requests it, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms.

Drive-through testing sites that do not require a referral are operating in Regina and Saskatoon. This is in addition to the testing and assessment centres currently open.

Saturdays and Sundays – 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

You are required to provide a Saskatchewan Health Card and wear a mask before getting tested.
