Meadow Lake mayor acclaims position as nominations end

Meadow Lake Mayor Merlin Seymour will not face a challenger for mayor in this year’s municipal election and has acclaimed the position.
The nomination period closed today, with Seymour as the only entry for the top spot at city hall. Four incumbents are running for re-election to council, including Ron Dishko, Tom Harrison, Richard Levesque and Conrad Read.
Six newcomers will challenge for seats on council. The list is Felicia Adams, Amber Ambroziak, Shawn Brander, Clay DeBray, Kassidy Dunsing, Sébastien Dupuis and Mauri Young.
Election day is November 9.
