Explore safely in Waskesiu
You know the feeling you get when you leave all your worries behind?
It’s been tough to find in the midst of a global pandemic, but its not impossible. In fact, the opportunities to explore and play in nature’s playground are limitless at Waskesiu within Prince Albert’s National Park! The fresh air and the picturesque boreal forest covered in winter’s white coat offer an abundance of room to spread out, slow down, reconnect with nature and discover everything that is #SaskNice in your own backyard.
Whether you cut your own trail snowshoeing in the backcountry, enjoy an afternoon of ice-fishing or simply take a leisurely walk through the Waskesiu townsite, there is something for everyone. With approximately 45 kilometers of groomed ski trails in the park, this provides visitors a unique yet serene backdrop to this picturesque location. Winter is an especially great time to view the wildlife. Check the roadsides for elk, deer, wolf and fox tracks or scan the frozen lakes for wolves. Over 20 species of birds also make Prince Albert National Park their winter home.
