1. “Wise Woman” was written by Mallory Johnson and Carli and Julie Kennedy of Twin Kennedy. The string arrangements on “Wise Woman” were written and arranged by Twin Kennedy, and performed by Julie Kennedy. Acoustic guitar was performed by Carli Kennedy.

2. “Wise Woman” was recorded in Nashville, TN with Canadian producer, Dustin Olyan (David Lee Murphy, Angaleena Presley). Carli and Julie Kennedy of Twin Kennedy and Mallory Johnson co-produced the track, which features prominent Nashville musicians including Steve Hinson (George Jones, Randy Travis), Tim Marks (Taylor Swift, Luke Combs) and Jeff Adamczyk (Midland).

3. The music video for “Wise Woman” features short clips of diverse women from across North America, including many women who have been influential in both Mallory Johnson and Twin Kennedy’s lives and careers – their moms, sisters, friends, mentors and colleagues.

About the song:

“We’ve always found that our most personal songs are written with close friends who are also our co-writers. Mallory came over to our house one night, we opened a bottle of wine and sat on the patio with our guitars. Inspired by our shared struggles as women in a male-dominated industry, “Wise Woman” was born!

Maybe it was the patio lights or maybe it was the merlot – it was one of those songwriting sessions where the music just flowed out of us. We remember singing the song in harmony as it was being written – we could feel that it was made for more than just one voice. Words and music don’t always come easy, but with Wise Woman, it felt like the song was coming to us right when we needed it most. Writing with your best friends is what we call a “safe space”. When you’re able to open up and share your stories, challenges and heartbreaks with each other, you can end up with a song that is meaningful, truthful and powerful. “I headed over to Julie and Carli’s house one evening with the intention of writing a song but expected our writing session would quickly turn into a classic girls night with wine, pizza, and gossip. We had a bottle of wine opened on the back patio when Carli came out with her guitar and sang a verse of a song she had started titled ​Wise ​ ​Woman ​ . I’ll never forget the overwhelming emotions I felt hearing those few words. It​ ​ was something not only women in the entertainment industry could relate to, but women in any industry. I’ll forever be grateful to Twin Kennedy for trusting me with this story and inviting me to tell my story as well.
