A couple of things you can do right now with the random phone scam going on
Have you received phone calls from unknown overseas numbers? People from across Saskatchewan have complained about receiving numerous phone calls from Latvia, Guyana, and other countries, only to have the unknown caller hang up after one ring or to ask for personal information.
One method to curb the number of calls is to block the suspicious number. Although this won’t stop your phone from being harassed from another call later because the numbers keep changing.
These calls are part of an international one-ring call scam called “Wangiri”, which comes from Japan where the scam originated years ago and means one-ring-and-cut. (One ring and done.) READ MORE
