A total of 80 new COVID-19 cases reported over past three days, two new deaths over the weekend

A total of 80 new cases were reported today and over the weekend in Saskatchewan; 42 reported on Saturday, 19 on Sunday, and 19 new cases reported today.

This brings the provincial total to 49,279 cases; 48,309 recoveries and 397 cases considered active. Northern zones account for half the cases currently active at 211 active cases, including 108 in the Far North East zone.

The new cases in Northern Saskatchewan are located in the following zones: Far North West, three; Far North East, two; North Central, three; and North East, two.

Two deaths were reported during the weekend with one reported on Saturday and one reported on Sunday. No new deaths were reported today.

NITHA Data

As of July 11, there are 129 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), four; Far North West, 19; Far North East, 104; North Central, one; and North East, one. There are 66 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; one, Far North West, eight; and Far North East, 57. So far there has been 3,738 cases (96 per cent) that have recovered, and nine people are hospitalized.

Vaccines Reported

Over 30,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were delivered today and over the weekend.

On Saturday, 15,623 doses were administered with another 10,320 given on Sunday. The province reported another 5,458 doses on Monday bringing the total provincial vaccine total to 1,304,646 and 563,208 Saskatchewan residents fully vaccinated.

The additional 5,458 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 60; Far North Central, nine; Far North East, 21; North West, 225; North Central, 214; North East, 86; Saskatoon, 1,970; Central West, 64; Central East, 150; Regina, 1,779; South West, 41; South Central, 498; and South East, 159. There were 182 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

Seventy-three per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 55 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
