As people plan to get away from home for the first time in 16 months, it appears more vacations could require proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.

A spokesperson from the Ministry of Health said the government is working with the federal government on developing COVID-19 immunization certificates – some call them vaccine passports – that will be recognized internationally as proof a person is fully vaccinated.

The two levels of government are talking about the vaccine information systems in use and how it van be sued to support a vaccine passport.

The province couldn’t say when the passports would be available or what they might look like for people with mixed vaccinations.
