Meadow Lake Hospital Foundation set to launch Chase the Ace raffle

Jul 22, 2021 | 5:00 PM

While no running shoes are required, residents of Meadow Lake will soon come together to capture a grand prize that will bring in a reward to further benefit the community.

The Meadow Lake Hospital Foundation recently announced the non-profit’s next fundraiser will be a Chase the Ace raffle. Between August 17, 2021 and August 16, 2022, residents across Saskatchewan will have the opportunity to enter their name for a chance to win some cash from a prize pot that will continue to grow every week. A maximum prize of $100,000 could be reached depending on how the cards play out.

Chairman Tony Vandenberg stated the foundation has seen a decline in its typical donations, which he believes is a result of the public health crisis. He hopes this fundraiser will stir up excitement in the community throughout the entirety of the draw.

“This is exciting for us. It’s a new frontier, a new fundraiser and new challenge for our community. As people know, the Chase the Aces, can be very rewarding in the end to win some prizes, and because it’s a year long, it’s going to be a lot of fun. We can really get to enjoy this fundraiser,” Vandenberg said.

Tickets are currently priced at $5 each, and the draws will be conducted at the Meadow Lake Hospital on a bi-weekly basis at 7:15 p.m. Participants will be able to watch a live stream of the draw on the MLHF Facebook page.

Tickets can be purchased by sending an e-transfer to mlhfchasetheace@gmail.com, purchasing at the MLHF website, or in-person from any committee member.

The winner of the draw will receive 20 per cent of the weekly ticket sales as well as a chance to draw the ace of spades worth 30 per cent of the growing jackpot. Entrants must reside in Saskatchewan and be 19 years of age in order to purchase a ticket and qualify for any prizes.

Ticket sales open to the public on August 3.
