Coast 2 Coast Closeup – Ty Baynton
We’ve all had the moment in our lives where we thought we knew everything, only to fast forward a few weeks, months, or years to realize how wrong we were! It was from this observation that “If I Knew Now” was born.
Ty Baynton recalls, “Myself and some friends were hanging out throwing song ideas back and forth and started talking about how we thought our first relationship would last forever, our dog would never get old, etc and the song came together pretty quick.
The funny thing about songs is they take on new meanings as time passes; and shortly after this was written COVID hit. At the time Ty had just returned from a west coast tour and was routinely performing 150-200 shows a year.
Needless to say he wasn’t home much. Since the world shut down the opposite happened, and he realized how much he had been missing out on. Birthdays, family get togethers, etc and feels the trick for many of us will be finding a balance between everything when we are allowed to return to “normal”.
Ty says, “The time off has enabled me to focus my attention on new music and refocus what I want to accomplish moving forward.”
