Province reports 26 new cases of COVID-19 in northern zones; 52 total across the province

The Saskatchewan government is reporting 52 new cases of COVID-19 across the province today as well as 16 recoveries from the virus. This brings the provincial total to 49,882 cases; 48,892 total recoveries and 412 cases considered active.

In the six northern zones of the province, there are currently 261 active cases.

The new cases in Northern Saskatchewan are located in the following zones: Far North West, nine; Far North Central, two; Far North East, three; North West, six; North Central, four; and North East, two. Five cases are pending residence information. One case with location pending was assigned to the Regina zone.

No new deaths were reported today.

NITHA Data

As of July 28, there are 137 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 25; Far North West, 72; Far North East, 37; and North East, three.

There are 49 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; seven, Far North West, 33; and Far North East, eight; North Central, 0; and North East, one.

There have been 3,931 cases (96 per cent) that have recovered, and two people are being hospitalized.

Vaccines Reported

An additional 6,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,400,844.

The additional 6,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 174; Far North Central, six; Far North East, 80; North West, 403; North Central, 356; North East, 403; Saskatoon, 1,603; Central West, 355; Central East, 334; Regina, 1,357; South West, 99; South Central, 169; and South East, 472. There were 208 doses administered with zone of residence pending.

With 6,019 new doses of COVID-19 vaccine being reported today in the province, the total number of vaccines administered is now at 1,400,844, including over 640,000 people who are fully vaccinated. (Government of Saskatchewan)

Seventy-five per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 63 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.

There are currently over 640,000 people in the province who have been fully vaccinated.
