Three wildfires of note as 128 blazes burn across the province
Saskatchewan has 128 active fires, 16 of which are not contained, 11 are contained, and 83 are being assessed.
According to the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency’s (SPSA) most updated report, there were three main wildfires of note: north of Hudson Bay, north of Smeaton and north of Grandmother’s Bay.
The fire north of Hudson Bay shows the southeast corner is displaying very active fire behaviour with crews and equipment trying to secure the line. Dozer operations are supporting aerial ignition efforts. Helicopters are supporting crews and dozers building fire guards. That fire was measured at 30,482 hectares.
