Over 200 new cases reported today in province, no new deaths

For the first time since May 14, the province is reporting over 200 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.

The 244 new cases brings the total to 52,065 reported cases in the province; 1,381 cases are considered active and 50,098 cases are considered recovered.

There are current 636 active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan’s northern zones with 98 new cases reported today; Far North West (nine), Far North Central (one), Far North East (19), North West (11), North Central (24), North East (34).

No new deaths were reported today.

The province already reported another 1,543 vaccines administered in the province. This brings the provincial total to 1,454,742 and 681,388 Saskatchewan residents fully vaccinated.

NITHA Data

As of July 19, there are 179 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.
These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 22; Far North West, 67; Far North East, 70; North Central, 19; and North East, one; 4222 cases (95 per cent) have recovered, and four people are being hospitalized.

There are 74 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; eight, Far North West, 26; and Far North East, 38; North Central, two; and North East, 0.

Athabasca Health Authority

The Athabasca Health Authority reported a huge victory yesterday with nine total recoveries and no new cases reported in Stony Rapids with all 11 positive cases now reported as recovered.

Two new cases were reported in Black Lake on Aug. 19 with 18 cases still considered active.

Thirty per cent of eligible residents in the Athabasca Health Authority have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with Black Lake and Fond Du Lac still not meeting vaccination targets.
