Province reporting 418 new cases of COVID-19, two deaths

The Government of Saskatchewan is reporting 418 new cases of COVID-19.

Those cases in northern Saskatchewan are located in the Far North West (20), Far North East (15), North West (50), North Central (47), North East (21), and 45 new cases have pending residence information.

The province is also reporting two new deaths. The case fatality rate in Saskatchewan is 1.1 per cent.

Across the province, 2,755 cases are considered active and 52,031 cases are considered recovered. More than one-third (34.9 per cent) of new cases are in the 19 and under age category and one in seven (13.2 per cent) new cases are fully vaccinated.

As of Sept.3, a total of 135 individuals are hospitalized, including 112 inpatient hospitalizations and 23 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 135 patients, 95 (70.4 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

NITHA data

As of Sept. 2, there are 338 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 25; Far North West, 67; Far North East, 214; North Central, 27; and North East, five zomes.

There are 4,519 cases (92 per cent) recovered, and eight people are hospitalized.

There are 158 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; six, Far North West, 27; and Far North East, 102; North Central, 19; and North East, four zones.

Athabasca Health Authority

As of Sept. 2 the Athabasca Health Authority is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 and two have recovered.

There are 12 active cases with their five communities, Black Lake currently has seven active cases. However, since June 23, there has been 111 total cases in the communities.
