Advance polls for the federal election open this weekend
Canadians get ready to head to the polling stations on September 20th in this federal election. You can actually make your vote as soon as this weekend with the opening of the advance polls!
Vaccination is not required to vote, nor is proof of vaccination. Poll workers will not ask electors for proof of vaccination or a vaccination passport.
In Saskatchewan, even though masks are not mandatory, Elections Canada will be abiding by landlord policies on masks. For example, schools have made masks mandatory. Consequently, you may be asked to wear a mask based on your polling location. If you do not have one, one will be provided to you.
All poll workers, candidates and representatives will be wearing masks at all times at polling locations.
Electors who prefer not to wear a mask, or cannot wear a mask for medical reasons, should apply to vote by mail. There is still time – they have until Tuesday, September 14, 6 pm – but they must act quickly.
Individuals who refuse to wear a mask where they are required by the province, territory, region or landlord from whom we are leasing space will be refused entry to the polling station.
Get ready to cast your vote in #Elxn44!
