La Ronge RCMP investigating youth stabbing incident

Investigators are in the process of gathering information about an incident that has one youth from La Ronge in hospital.

On Wednesday night, La Ronge RCMP was dispatched to a reported stabbing on Studer Street in La Ronge. When police arrived on scene, they found a young man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The youth was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Following an investigation, officers arrested a 16-year-old who was on scene. The youth whose identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with one count of aggravated assault.

He will appear in court in La Ronge on Sept. 23.
