Canada-U.S. border to reopen to vaccinated travellers Nov. 8

Oct 15, 2021 | 10:45 AM

A date has been set for the reopening of the Canada-U.S. border.

On Nov. 8, vaccinated non-essential visitors will be able to cross the land borders into the United States for the first time since the boundaries were closed due to COVID-19.

Travellers will have to show proof of vaccination to border officials upon request.

On Tuesday, the American government announced it would reopen its borders with Canada and Mexico — news that was greeted with relief by people in towns on the border of Saskatchewan and North Dakota.
