Province reports 173 new cases of COVID-19, 44 located in Northern Sask.

The province has announced another 173 new confirmed cases today, which includes 120 cases among unvaccinated individuals and 52 cases among children ages 0-11.

Three new deaths were reported today bringing the provincial total to 862 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died.

Of the new cases reported today, 44 are found in Northern Saskatchewan in the Far North West (nine), Far North East (10), North West (eight), North Central (14), North East (three).

There are currently 1,765 active cases, a drop of 64 cases from yesterday. There are 490 cases that are currently active in Northern Saskatchewan zones.

There have been 78,075 cases confirmed since the pandemic began and 75,448 cases have recovered.

Less than one-third (30.1 per cent) of new cases are in the age category of 11 or under.

Almost two-fifths (37.2 per cent) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.

As of Nov. 3, a total of 226 people are hospitalized, including 175 inpatient hospitalizations and 51 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 226 patients, 154 (68.1 per cent) were not fully vaccinated.

In addition to Sask. ICUs, there are 25 residents in out-of-province ICUs. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard.

NITHA numbers

The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) reported 14 new cases in NITHA communities on Nov. 2; 10 (72 per cent) were unvaccinated, three (21 per cent) are partially vaccinated and one (seven per cent) were fully vaccinated.

As of that day, there are 116 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are found in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 0; Far North West, 32; Far North East, 43; North Central, 32; and North East, nine. There have been 6,683 cases (98 per cent) that have recovered, and 11 people are being hospitalized.

Athabasca Health Authority

No new cases were reported from the Athabasca Health Authority (AHA). No active cases have been reported by the AHA for the last two weeks.
