COVID hospitalizations rise by 12; 1,427 new cases reported

The number of Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 in hospital continues to rise after Sunday’s provincial update.

The province reported 1,427 new cases with hospitalizations now at 162, up 12 from Saturday’s update. Of those 162, 12 are in the ICU.

There were also 932 recoveries reported with active cases now sitting at 11,465.

Once again, no new deaths were reported, leaving the provincial total at 961.

NITHA numbers

As of Saturday, there are 36 new cases to report in NITHA communities. Of the new cases, 11 (31 per cent) are not vaccinated; 4 (11 per cent) are partially vaccinated; 20 (56 per cent) are fully vaccinated.

There are currently 188 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities.

On the vaccine front, the province reported 2,145 new doses with over 877,000 people fully vaccinated.
