Province announces 1,347 new cases, no new deaths

The Government of Saskatchewan has reported 1,347 new cases of COVID-19 in the province.

The new cases in northern Saskatchewan were found in the Far North West (11), Far North East (16), North West (33), North Central (122), North East (51), and 161 new cases have pending residence information.

Despite the large number of new cases, there were no new deaths reported Monday. To date, 961 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died.

There are 11,642 cases considered active and 88,934 cases have recovered.

There are 167 people in hospital and of those 67 are hospitalized with COVID-19, 52 are incidental and 35 are not determined. There are also 13 people in the ICU and of those, eight are for COVID-19 related illnesses, and five are for incidental.

NITHA Data

As of Jan. 16, there are 17 new cases to report in NITHA communities.

Of the new cases, two (12 per cent) are not vaccinated; two (12 per cent) are partially vaccinated, and 13 (76 per cent) are fully vaccinated.

There are 186 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are found in the Far North Central (Athabasca), eight; Far North West, 41; Far North East, 111; North Central, eight; and North East, 18.

There are 6,991 cases (97 per cent) that have recovered, and there are zero hospitalizations.
