Meadow Lake RCMP have arrested and charged an employee of a long-term care home for fraud following a more than three-year investigation.

Police received the initial report on Dec. 7, 2018 regarding potential fraud at the care home. Since receiving it, officers collected evidence and conducted interviews with many witnesses since.

According to the detachment, the investigation determined that the employee defrauded 11 residents, as well as the long-term care home itself, between 2016 and 2018.

As a result, 62-year-old Guelda Wood of Rapid View, Sask. is charged with multiple offences. This includes fraud over $5,000, fraud under $5,000, forgery and use, trafficking or possession of a forged document.
