Big Island Lake Cree Nation woman wanted for aggravated assault

UPDATE: The Pierceland RCMP have reported on May 18 they arrested Ochuschayoo on Big Island Lake Cree Nation.

She will appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on May 24 at 9:30 a.m

Pierceland RCMP have issued a warrant for the arrest of 18-year-old Danica Ochuschayoo.

Early Tuesday morning, the detachment received a report of an assault on Big Island Lake Cree Territory. Officers immediately responded and found an injured adult female outside of a residence, who was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious.

There is currently no update on the victim’s condition.

As a result of the initial investigation, Ochuschayoo, who hails from Big Island Lake Cree Nation, is charged with aggravated assault. She is described as 5’6” with a slim build, brown eyes and long, dark brown hair. She has her eyebrow, nose and lip pierced, along with a tattoo that says ‘Maverick’ on her chest and the letters ‘WHC MJO’ on both her left ankle and left shoulder.

Ochuchayoo, who sometimes uses the surname Oseemeemow, may be on Big Island Lake Cree Territory, Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation, Onion Lake Cree Nation or in Loon Lake, but this can’t be confirmed.

Pierceland RCMP are actively working to locate and arrest her and continue to investigate this incident. Anyone with information on this case or Ochuchayoo’s whereabouts can contact their local RCMP detachment by calling 310-RCMP, as well as submit anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

Stolen pickup

Meadow Lake RCMP are asking residents in the City to watch out for a black 2004 Ford F-250. Taken sometime between Sunday and Tuesday from the 400 block of 2nd St. East in Meadow Lake, the truck has a Saskatchewan License plate of 726-IVN.
