Loon Lake RCMP arrested a man on multiple charges over the weekend after a six-month investigation.

A warrant for the arrest of Cherokee Cantre was first issued on Aug. 25, 2021. He was then charged with new offences after an incident in Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation later on on Nov. 4 where he fled police in a vehicle at a high rate of speed. The incident was also in close proximity to an elementary school.

The charges included flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a conveyance, operation while prohibited and resisting arrest.

The following day, officers attempted to approach Cantre when he was located in the Loon Lake area, but he once again fled at a high rate of speed.
