Meadow Lake RCMP assisted with two investigations over the weekend that resulted in arrests.

On Saturday, Ahtahkakoop RCMP officers responded to a reported break and enter at their local detachment.

Investigators determined a man broke into the detachment through an exterior door that morning, where he encountered the on-duty guard in the cell block, who immediately alerted detachment officers.

The suspect left the detachment on foot and was located a short time later before fleeing again.

Meadow Lake RCMP Police Dog Services were requested and quickly located the suspect. No one was injured as a result of the incident and the damages to the detachment were limited to the exterior door.

He appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court Monday morning.

Meanwhile, Meadow Lake RCMP also helped Green Lake RCMP on Canada Day.

A search warrant was executed on a trailer in the community with 51-year-old Quentin Ross getting arrested. He’s since been charged with trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to traffic cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime, and possessing a prohibited weapon.

These charges stemmed from a 2018 drug trafficking investigation in Green Lake. In addition to Meadow Lake RCMP, Police Dog Services were also utilized.
