Effective Oct. 17, the R.M. of Meadow Lake has put a fire ban in place for the entire R.M. Any burn permits issued by the R.M. can’t be used while the fire ban is in place. The ban also includes backyard fire pits.
Officials with the R.M. of Meadow Lake say large swaths of the area and beyond remain unseasonably dry. The fire ban will likely remain in place until moisture conditions improve, adding at this point, the moisture can come in the form of rain or snow. The fire ban does not include the City of Meadow Lake.
