A small cookie with a happy face on it has produced big results for a charity in Meadow Lake.

Last week, The Tim Hortons in Meadow Lake donated $3,375.00 to Northwest Community Lodge Association (NCLA). NCLA also known as Northland Pioneer Lodge, works to ensure seniors that can no longer live on their own have a comfortable and safe place to live in Meadow Lake.

The money was raised by the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign that took place on Sept. 19 to 25. One hundred per cent of the money raised through the sale of smile cookies is donated to local charities and community groups. Glenn Isaac, the owner of the Tim Hortons in Meadow Lake said they are proud to continue their support for the lodge.

“We’ve supported The Pioneer Lodge for a number of years now. Its just to help them with the seniors. And they built a new building and helped with that to get going and help to support the community,” he said.
